Farsund is a costal city in Vest-Agder county, located in the southwestern part of Norway. My dad was born and raised in Farsund and I grew up visiting the city and our summerhouse every summer. This summer I was lucky enough to spend a week at the summerhouse with my fiancée, Elizabeth Groven.
We left Oslo Wednesday afternoon and drove for 5 (!!) hours before we arrived at the summerhouse. It was a long drive, but totally worth it. We went to bed quickly after we arrived and woke up early the next morning for some stand up paddle boarding. Elizabeth brought my dads dog out on a quick SUP session. It was his first time on a stand up paddle board and from the picture it looks like he enjoyed it, but I can assure you he did not! He ran inside as soon as we took him off the board!
The next couple of days were spent exploring and relaxing. We went for a walk on the beach, enjoyed the sun and drove the boat. For more pictures CLICK HERE.
On one of the boat rides my cousin Thor asked if we had seen the big ship which had been arrested last year for not paying its employees. We had not seen it, nor heard about it and decided to check it out. We were hoping that the ship would be abandoned so we could check out the inside. Unlucky for us the employees had been payed and they were back on the ship getting ready to leave the bay.
It was good to escape from the heat in Oslo for a couple of days as It has been a crazy summer in the capital (and Norway in general) and it’s rarely below 30 degrees celcius. We stopped by Kongsberg on the way back to eat dinner with Elizabeth’s parents and for a late night swim at Heivann.
